UV Masking Materials for for Efficient Metal Finishing
UV-curable masking materials offer a modern alternative to traditional tapes, waxes, and solvent-based coatings used in metal finishing. Conventional masking is labor-intensive and inconsistent, often leading to higher costs from rework and scrap.
Fast UV Curing for Reduced Labor and Cycle Time
Hoenle provides highly resilient UV masking materials that cure within seconds under UV or visible light. They can be dispensed manually or automatically to protect surfaces and cavities during processes such as blasting, machining, plating, and stripping. This technology significantly reduces labor and processing time.

Flexible Removal Options for Any Process
Each UV Mask supports one or multiple removal methods:
- Incineration (900–1200°F): Ideal for combining with heat treatment steps; leaves residue-free surfaces.
- Peel Removal: Low-adhesion masks peel at room temperature; high-adhesion masks require a short hot-water soak.
- Water Dissolution: Water-soluble masks easily dissolve with agitation or ultrasonics, ideal for small parts and light finishing.
Versatile Applications in Manufacturing and Testing
Hoenle UV Masks are also used for:
- Temporary sealing during airflow or functional testing
- Protecting internal cavities during laser drilling
- Shielding surfaces during transport
- Extending fixture life by replaceable protective coatings
